What To Expect From The Volkswagen Jetta in 2020

Spread the love

Why does the Jetta still stand out as one of the company’s best-selling sedans?   Well, the new Jetta rides like a dream. it’s well-equipped, fuel-efficient, and most importantly it is affordable.  Good value and a low price are how lease dealers would characterize the Jetta.  Why not see which model your car lease dealer in Pennsylvania will stock.

Which Extras Will I Find Included in The Jetta Package?

The 2020 Volkswagen Jetta comes with a Cold Weather package for the SE and SE R-Line trims, giving you a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats. The heated washer nozzles and a remote start are a nice touch too. With the 2020 Jetta automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, and rear cross-traffic alerts come as extra. However, adaptive dampers and wireless charging now come standard on the Jetta GLI Autobahn.  Volkswagen’s Car-Net connectivity system is standard on all models. Volkswagen also upgraded the headlamps to LED projectors and LED daytime running lights.

What is the Engine Like?

The  2020 Volkswagen Jetta GLI   packs a more powerful 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 228 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque on tap. Volkswagen has corrected most of the shortcomings of the previous version. At 40 miles to the gallon on the highway and 30 mpg in the city, you will find this model fuel-efficient.  Every single model, apart from the brand new 2000 Jetta GLI, is fitted with a 1.4L turbocharged inline-four engine that’s powerful enough for 147 HP and 184 lb-ft of torque. While most versions come with smooth-shifting 8-speed autos, the entry-level model has a 6-speed stick. The Jetta only qualifies for a front-wheel-drive and that suits this nifty sedan.

How Safe is It

The current VW Jetta received “Good” ratings in all the IIHS crash tests and a “Superior” rating for its optional automatic emergency braking system and we expect the same safety ratings from the 2020 VW Jetta which is great news for families looking for a secure ride.

Does It Look Good?

The new GLI is, in essence, a  sportier version of the standard Jetta. Its grille now has a honeycomb layout, while the horizontal trim that splits the element in two is finished in red. Instead of a red “GTI” badge, the sedan has red “GLI” lettering. Contact your car lease dealer to see when this model will become available to test drive in Pennsylvania.
